Suffolk 6 Hertfordshire 9 (24 Jan 2016)
Suffolk Youth went down to a 9-6 overall defeat at home to title favourites Hertfordshire in the NYDO Eastern Division at Kesgrave Social Club.
The Under 18’s began proceedings, and came away with a fantastic 4-3 win that extends their lead at the top of the individual team table.
Billy Scriven (19.21 ave) played well but went down 2-0 in the opening game to a good performance from Jarrod Cole – but Tyler Ackers (17.72 ave) levelled for Suffolk with a 2-1 win.
Once Morgan Smith (16.63 ave) went down 2-0, followed by Declan Salter (18.60 ave & 180) losing 2-1, Suffolk looked in a spot of bother – but Man of the Match Kyle Bloomfield (18.22 ave) started the recovery, hitting a 120 checkout in his 2-0 win.
Lewis Ackers (11.87 ave) won a tight encounter 2-1 to bring the scores level, and Ollie Hammond (14.22 ave) found his form when it mattered in the deciding leg to win 2-1 and seal a superb comeback by Suffolk.
The Under 21 Ladies team knew they would have their work cut out against the very strong visiting team who are running away at the top of the individual division – and so it proved as the Suffolk girls found themselves a bit overwhelmed by their far more experienced opponents.
Chloe Woollard (12.17 ave), Nicole Bartram (13.07 ave) and Katherine Linnett (9.67 ave) all went down to 2-0 defeats, but were far from disgraced against a team that have many senior county appearances between their players.
This 3-0 defeat left Suffolk facing a 6-4 deficit going into the Men’s Under 21 matches, and once again facing a vastly more experienced set of opponents.
There was a 3-0 defeat for Michael Poole (18.67 ave) in the opening game with Daniel Varney, before Josh Church (21.31 ave) went down 3-1 and Herts sealed the overall win.
Dan Clarke (16.81 ave) was beaten 2-0 on his debut by 2014 Senior England National singles runner-up George Killington, before Tom King (21.14 ave) got Suffolk on the board with a 3-2 win.
Josh Sinkovits (25.11 ave) gave another classy Man of the Match performance to win 3-1 and end the match on a high for Suffolk – although Hertfordshire ran out 3-2 winner in the Men’s under 21s.
Suffolk are next in action on February 21st when Bedfordshire are the visitors to Kesgrave.
Suffolk 10 Cambridgeshire 5 (10 Jan 2016)
Suffolk Youth enjoyed a fine win 10-5 overall win against Cambridgeshire in the latest Northern Youth Darts Organisation Eastern Division match at Kesgrave Social Club.
The base for the overall win was laid by a fine performance by the Under 18s, whose 5-2 win keeps their 100% winning start to the season intact.
Ollie Hammond (17.89 ave) got Suffolk off to a 2-0 winning start, followed up by Morgan Smith (23.30 ave) hitting a 180 and a 120 finish in his 2-0 win to take the Man of the Match award.
Tyler Ackers (18.56 ave) and Billy Scriven (14.74 ave) both enjoyed 2-0 wins, and Suffolk’s lead was extended to 5-0 as Kyle Bloomfield (15.18 ave) also without dropping a leg.
Debutant Steven Warner (11.55 ave) took the first leg, but went down 2-1 as Cambs hit back, and the visitors also took the final Under 18s game as Lewis Ackers (13.78 ave) was beaten 2-0.
The Under 18s win was followed by another fine victory for the Under 21 Ladies, with Katherine Linnett (14.52 ave) taking the Lady of the Match with a 2-0 win in the opening game.
Nicole Bartram (16.10 ave) once again played well but with no reward as she went down 2-0, but Chloe Woollard (9.45 ave) held her nerve to win 2-1 and clinch a 2-1 win for the Ladies.
So, holding a 7-3 overall lead, Suffolk required just one game in the Men’s Under 21 to seal the overall victory – and it came in the opening game as Tom King (17.91 ave) won 3-1.
Cambridgeshire hit back as Daniel Brown (17.34 ave) went down 3-1 and Josh Church (18.94 ave) lost 3-2 – but Suffolk sealed the Under 21’s win as Michael Poole (14.61 ave) won 3-1, and Josh Sinkovits (25.47 ave & 180) took the Man of the Match award with a 3-0 win in the final game to clinch a 3-2 win.

Suffolk 11 Norfolk 4 (15 Nov 2015)
Suffolk Youth ran out comprehensive winners in the local derby with Norfolk in the Northern Youth Darts Organisation Eastern Division match at Kesgrave Social Club.
Wins for all three teams meant a comfortable 11-4 overall victory and meant Suffolk moved above Cambridgeshire at the top of the division.
With both teams an Under 18 player light, both had to concede a game – with as usual, reserves coming in to make up numbers.
The first Under 18s game of the day saw Under 21s player Jack Curl (14.96 ave) filling the breach for Suffolk and winning 2-0 against Dean Stubbs – although of course this still put Norfolk ahead by default.
Lewis Ackers (11.42 ave) made his Suffolk debut but lost 2-1 to Joseph Harris in a close game, but Lewis’ brother Tyler Ackers (17.89 ave) got Suffolk on the scoreboard with a 2-0 win over Kieran Buxton.

Norfolk fielded reserves in the next game with Under 21s Kane Read and James Earl stepping in for them – with Kane beating Morgan Smith (23.29 ave) in a fine game 2-1, and James beating Ollie Hammond (16.47 ave) 2-0 – but both the wins in the context of the match went to Suffolk securing a 5-2 win for the Under 18s.
The Under 21 Ladies’ match began well for Suffolk with a 2-0 win for Katherine Linnett (9.54 ave) against Natasha James, followed up by Chloe Woollard (11.39 ave) winning 2-0 over Megan Land.
With only two Norfolk ladies available Nicole Bartram (12.37 ave) played a reserve, but she still took the Lady of the Match award running out 2-0 winner and sealed an excellent 3-0 win for Suffolk.
So with Suffolk in an unassailable 8-2 lead in the overall match, could the Under 21 Men complete a full house for the teams on the day?
Michael Poole (15.08 ave) didn’t find his best form in the opening game and went down 3-0 to Brad Burnett, but Josh Church (17.28 ave) levelled for Suffolk with a 3-0 win over Jack Clarke.
Josh Sinkovits (24.24 ave) gave a Man of the Match display including a 177 in his 3-0 win over Chunk Elphick Wilson, but Norfolk drew level as Dan Brown (15.62 ave) went down 3-0 to Chester Gardener.
